Product Overview

Introducing the Intel Core i7 12700KF processor, with a clock speed of 3.6 GHz, 12 cores, and 20 threads. Benefit from 25 MB of cache memory for optimal performance. Ideal for demanding users, this OEM model is perfect for high-end configurations.

Intel® Virtualization Technology for Distributed I/O (VT-d)
Intel® Virtualization Technology for Distributed I/O (VT-d) extends existing support for Intel® Virtualization Technology for IA-32 (VT-x) and Itanium® (VT-i) by adding new support for virtualizing I/O devices. Intel® VT Virtualization Technology for Distributed I/O can help users improve the security and reliability of their systems, as well as the performance of I/O devices in virtualized environments.

Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x)
Intel® VT Virtualization Technology (VT-x) allows a hardware platform to be split into multiple virtual platforms. It enhances the ease of managing the fleet, thereby limiting service interruptions and preventing the resulting productivity losses, by isolating the relevant operations on a dedicated partition.

Intel® 64
The Intel® 64 architecture delivers 64-bit computing on servers, workstations, PCs, and mobile devices when the platform is combined with compatible software.¹ The Intel® 64 architecture improves performance by allowing systems to overcome the 4 GB barrier for addressing virtual and physical memory.

Cache
The processor cache is a high-speed memory area located on the processor. Intel® Smart Cache refers to the architecture that allows all cores to dynamically share access to the last-level cache.

New Intel® AES Instructions
With the new AES-NI (Advanced Encryption Standard New Instructions), data encryption and decryption are fast and secure. AES-NI instructions are useful for a wide range of cryptographic applications, such as block ciphers/decryptions, authentication, random number generation, and authenticated encryption.

Idle States
Idle states, the "C" states, are used to conserve power when the processor is idle. C0 is the active state, when the processor is performing useful activity. C1 is the first idle state, C2 the second, and so on. The higher the C status number, the more energy-saving measures are implemented.

Intel® Turbo Boost Technology
Intel® Turbo Boost Technology dynamically increases the processor frequency as needed, taking advantage of thermal and electrical headroom to provide extra speed when required and improved energy efficiency when not.

Max Turbo Frequency
The maximum Turbo Frequency is the highest single-core frequency at which the processor can operate using Intel® Turbo Boost Technology and, if present, Intel® Turbo Boost Max 3.0 and Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost Technology. Frequency is usually measured in gigahertz (GHz) or billions of cycles per second.

Lock Bit
The lock bit is a hardware security feature that reduces exposure to viruses and malicious code attacks and prevents harmful software from running and spreading on the server or network.

Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology
Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology provides two execution units per physical core. Multi-process applications can handle more work in parallel and thus complete tasks faster.

Instruction Set
The instruction set refers to the set of basic commands and instructions that a microprocessor understands and can execute. The value shown represents the Intel® instruction set with which this processor is compatible.

Intel® VT-x Virtualization Technology with Extended Page Tables
Intel® VT (VT-x) Virtualization Technology with Extended Page Tables, also known as Second Level Address Translation (SLAT), accelerates memory-intensive virtualized applications. Extended Page Tables on Intel® Virtualization Technology platforms reduce memory and power costs, while increasing battery life through hardware optimization of page table management.

Intel® Optane™ Memory Supported
Intel® Optane™ Memory is a revolutionary new class of non-volatile memory that sits between system memory and storage to accelerate system performance and responsiveness. When it is associated with the storage technology driver
