Moss is often the result of soil that is too acidic, infertile, too wet, or of mowing the grass too short. When the grass thins, moss thrives. Prevention is better than cure; however, many lawn owners face moss growth sooner or later. Our advice is to fertilize three times a year (spring, summer, and autumn) with Organifer Fertilizer to keep your lawn in excellent condition. If the soil pH is below 5.5, we recommend liming with Organifer Lime Fertilizer or Seaweed Lime. Apply 20 to 25 g/m² of iron sulfate evenly to stressed and mossy lawns in early spring (March/April) or early autumn (September/October). Apply Organifer Iron Sulfate Fertilizer at least one week before scarifying the lawn for best results. Iron sulfate is often called a moss killer, but it also improves the plant's resistance.
