A 25cm miniature collectible guitar, a replica of the bass played by Paul McCartney from 1965 onwards. This bass guitar was given to Paul during the Beatles' American tour and revolutionized the Beatles bassist's approach to music. Deeper than the sound of the Hofner Violin, the tones of the Rickenbacker 4001 inspired Paul's compositions, starting with the song "Thin for Yourself" in 1965. This bass guitar subsequently became an essential element of the Beatles' songs from the album Revolver onwards, and of course on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road. The warm sound of the Rickenbacker bass remains unforgettable on the track "Come Together." Paul McCartney had his Rickenbacker painted during the psychedelic years of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album (miniature bass guitar available from Absolutguitare under reference AH-405). After this period, Paul removed the paint to give it a natural wood look, which it retained throughout the Wings era. Paul played this bass in concert with Wings, abandoning his Hofner Violin. The more rock-oriented sound of his new band was a better match for the Rickenbacker 4001. Brand new product delivered in decorative cardboard packaging with a display stand.
